"I just bought this boat. it was going 35mph no problem then the motor lost all power and shut off.. I restarted it just fine, but now it will only go 7 or 8 mph at full throttle. any ideas?????"
 
Compression test. Is the temp

Compression test. Is the temp sensitive paint on the exhaust cover all brown? Water pump?

Run a spark test.
Check your timing advance lever and make sure the link didn't fall off. Same with throttle linkage.
