2 questions on a 23L

"1 - where is the exhaust supp

"1 - where is the exhaust supposed to exit? I always thought mainly from center of prop, but my flexible hose has holes on the bottom (look factroy), so the exhaust is bubbling up around the outdrive.
2 - my boat stutters when I hit any wave and it makes the boat bounce. Is there something to put in the carb bowl to help with the fuel sloshing around? I have the 2bl Holley.

those holes are suppose to be

those holes are suppose to be there. they are to reduce back pressure in the exhaust while idleing in the water. for the second question my 2.3 has the rochester carb on it and I do not have that problem
