"i have a crusader 8.1 H.O and the raw water pump broke up, they recommend me to upgrade the old raw water pump (crankshaft driven) with the new style (Belt driven) kit, is it good to do that? or should i let the cooling system as it is

On the early 2000 models (

On the early 2000 models (at least the small blocks) there were lots of failures with the crank driven pumps. The kit is relatively complete and easy to install. I'd be inclined to replace it; with my luck it would fail when the big fish get easy to catch and I'd be stuck 10 miles from the bite.....
