"I have a 15hp gamefisher that i bought for $200. from a friend. he said it needs a water pump for it to work. so i gave $100. and Still owe $100. when i get it fixed. So, that was over a year ago and the motor sat up for a few years before that. I'm just now getting around to it. I belive the gamefisher was sold by sears but, it was made by Mercury. The first 3 model#s starts with 225. I found a water pump impeler on ebay for $19.95. Anyway, when I first bought the motor I hooked up the gas, made sure the kill switch was in and tried to start it. It had good compresion and sounded like it wanted to start but never did, just like it was out of gas. I had a friend who said he thought he remembered when the motor broke. he said they went about 100 yards from the landing and it just spuderd out. Does anyone have any idea what it could be. Also how much it might cost to fix it at a shop.
Or is a waterpump an easy fix for the DIY."
