Shifting Spline Shaft

Installed new water pump on 19

Installed new water pump on 1998 2 stroke 90 hp Yamaha engine and cranked it up. Water was pumping good but prop was turning with a clicking noise. Was very careful not to move the shaft position duing installation. There was no neutral or reverse. Foot has been dropped several times for adjustments to shift spline shaft. Prior to the install there was no clicking and it appeared to have forward and neutral.

"The shaft has moved slightly. Put the remote shift in forward gear, install leg with 1 bolt to hold check that prop will turn (engine too) in forward direction and will not turn in reverse, you may have to drop leg a few times and move spline slightly each time until it is in the right position....once you achieve this..test the remote for normal operation."
