"I have twin crusader 220. The starboard engine comes up to temperature faster than the port engine. It then slowly rises to 240. Within 4 seconds it starts to drop and drops rapidly to 130 and then slowly the cycle repeats. This happens at idle, low rpms, and fast rpms. It does this time and time again. The engine is raw water cooled by sea water. I have replaced the thermostat twice but thing have not changed. The oil is fine with no water in it. Thanks for any thoughts. Don"

"Look out! Your water flow to the engine is being disrupted somehow (and all it takes is 30 seconds without water in cruise mode to wreck your engine).

Start looking for air leaks before the raw water pumps: Loose hoses, strainer gaskets, cracked seacock, etc.
