1984 488 mercruiser carburetor

1984 488 mercruiser carburetor floods out of secondary barrels when turned over. This floods engine with fuel. I think it could be the carb float being stuck. Is this easy to fix/ Do I need a rebuild kit to replace gaskets before I begin?

Any time you open a carb you should have replacement gaskets since all the gaskets are one time use. It sounds like it's time to rebuild it since it's flooding. Get the right kit and a manual. Use the manual's specification chart for adjustments. New floats help if the old are heavy or have fluid inside when shaken.
