I found what looks like to be a great treatment to clean out engines on SwitchBait that has you running a motor for 15 min while sucking in a mix of Sea Foam. I just got an old 150 merc that I want to try this with. It came with Rabit Ears for "flushing" out the motor. If I want to try the clean out on land can I use the Rabit Ears? - I wasn't sure it they would provide enough cooling for running for 15 minutes at a time.

"Don't rev it up,should be ok,it is still pumping water up around the powerhead. Better idea to get a plastic tub or bin fill it up,not as noisy and not as hard on the water meter."

Another great product for cleaning out the cooties is Mercury "Powertune" - about 5 bucks for a spray can..."
