Is the marine pump a modified "short neck" pump? Just wondering about getting an automotive aftermarket Al pulley; what are my chances something may fit.

the only mods i've seen were to use different impellers. usually a stainless one in case they see a rwc system. of course the reverse rotation engines get a 'backwards' impellor too.

I did the auto choice on an old in-line six cylinder. they had a dual patterned hub on it. It wouldn't allow the marine pulley to seat. an hour later with a couple trips to the press and a stop at the lather in between and we were in business.

The other thing to consider is the 'depth' or offset of the pulley - i'd measure what you have now and ask if the replacement is compatible before buying.
