"hello all! 98 4 stroke 50 had leaking steel shim head gasket, engine sat up and water puddled in cyl. 2 causing rust and deep pocket on wall-- other 3 cyls were around 125 to 130 psi- tore powerhead down, all 4 pistons are excellent, 3 cyls are perfect, took block down to rebore the bad cyl oversize and install new piston question---- should i replace main bearings--- rod bearings and rings on all cyls?
does no play in the wrist pin bearings indicate good bearings? this motor has no cyl wall wear that i can detect, i do not want to spend money on bearings etc... that are not needed, however i want this to be the last time i tear it apart
are these 50 4 strokes worth the rebuild?
i have only done 2 strokes in my past, any advice from you guys is greatly welcomed!!! thankyou"
