I 'm looking for some help

I 'm looking for some help with a stuck lower unit. I was going to inspect the impeller's condition while I had the outdrive off but I can't seem to get it apart. All of the bolts and nuts and the allen bolt are off so what's the best way to split it apart with out damaging it?

On the Alpha Ones, I've had some success with a flat screwdriver to pry, but you have to VERY careful not to crack the casing. Also, make sure you have the nut off on the front of the drive by the shift cable.

I would also suggest reattaching the drive, then trying to split the halves apart. I've replaced a few impellers that way and found it much faster without needing the gasket kit every year."
