Honda 90 Engine Cover Latch

The rear latch holding down th

The rear latch holding down the cover on my 90 seems to have
frozen up over the winter. I had to use a rubber mallet to get it
to move enough to get the cover off. With the cover off I got the metal locking mechanism off but still can't get the latch to turn the 90 degrees needed to secure the cover.
Can anyone suggest a solution?

"You have a bad corrosion prob

"You have a bad corrosion problem. Try soaking the parts with PB Blaster (Walmart)and working the handle back and forth. Once you get it apart, clean well and use water proof grease to reassemble."
