"This motor dies out when running at extreme low idle - either in gear or in neutral. The bulb is soft when it dies - I haven't monitored the bulb during higher rpms. Other than low rpms, it runs great.
I am not sure this is related, but I checked the spark plugs, and they are covered with black soot. The exhaust pipe, and surrounding cowl also are covered with black soot. A friend of mine has the same motor, and he does not have the exhaust soot issue.
