"my camera is on the fritz so i cant take any pictures of this question. I have a 1988 bayliner cobra with the OMC outdrive and the chevy 5.7 in it. On the inside of the transom, on the top drivers side of the housing for the outdrive, there is a nipple with a 1/2 inch(im guessing) rubber hose that comes out of the housing and then snakes back underneath all that stuff again. What the heck is that? I just noticed that that hose had been cut from the previous owner and i was wondering if it had to be hooked up for some reason important. Any info would help. Sorry for the lack of information i could give you guys."

"If it's just a black plastic hose coming from the flywheel housing, it's a drain hose, normally they are cut on an angle at the end and sometimes they are cable tied to the starter, if that's not it I'll wait for the pics
