"Can anyone help with the year of this motor please. Info on the decal states: 6h4 L 547409 U. All a mystery to me. Regards, Glen."

The 6H4 indicates it belongs to the model 40H/40V run that started in 1983. I don't have an "end" date for those models.

You really need a complete model number to get an exact year - would look something like F40ABCD etc, unless someone here has access to production lists and can match the serial portion."
