1st and Longest Problem ! Oil

1st and Longest Problem ! Oil Leaking out of 2 Holes above the rear main seal onto the flywheel
These holes may be for the rear main bearing bolts or oil gallery plugs ?? but tiny drops go onto the flywheel and spray the Bilge ...
Also the Oil Preasure stays Pegged at 80 PSI

2nd problem .. All Cylinders burning oil and
black plugs . black smoke from exhaust
This is separate issue from the oil Leak
It happened after a friend Reved the motor up
in nutrual ...

3rd problem ... Engine is a pig on gas
12- 15 gallons and hour seems High
its Raw water cooled does this make a Difference
from Fresh water cooled running at 160 degrees instead of 140 degrees

"George,
I can confirm 12-15gph being normal for cruising speed on a big block motor with carbs. You may get a bit better with lighter loads, no wind, no waves. A Big Block will burn the same amount of fuel at a given RPM regardless of the boat. A smaller boat might go 60mph at 3500rpm and a big cruiser only 22mph.

"Also have to make sure the cam end that fits into the rear seal is still good. It needs to have those grooves that force the oil back into the engine. If that is bad (pitted, grooves gone...) replace it, or the main seal will still leak. 80 PSI is high. Only need 40 to 60."

Thanks Everyone
The Black smoke and fouled plugs was a bad Intake Mainfold Gasket causeing Oil into all the Cylinders Blown when my friend overreved my engine ...But now it does not smoke or foul
the plugs ... run smooth

"1st and longest issue ( years ) no money to buy
a new engine ....
The Infamous Oil Leak Has stopped ..
Why ??? I replaced the Head gaskets and intake
manifold gaskets and Finnally it stoped Leaking
Could The Clyinder preasure have been geting into
the oil Passages and causing extream high oil presure

All the experts I talk to Said NO ....
maybe its a reverce rotation thing !

I know the stock Intake gaskets are very Thin
I put 1 above the Vally pan and 1 below
is that right ,,

"What oil are you running? I

"What oil are you running? I dropped back to 10 W 30 to keep the oil pressure about 60 psi. If you're running straight wt 40 or even 10 W 40, that might be a way to go.

"I am running 5w30 weight But

"I am running 5w30 weight But that had nothing to do with the extreme High oil pressure , it was a Gasket causing the localized pocket of 80PSi or over
my Gauge was Pegged"
