"Hello! I want to rebuild my carb. on Mercury 50hp thunderbolt ignition (1977) serial no. 9136284, made in Belgium, because it was never rebuild since I bought it. Can anyone tell me measurements for float level and float drop adjustment? Picture showing measurement for other type of carb. ( I think mercury 50 1985) and I need for my (1977). Thanks!

"The lower float lever (with the carb upside down) should be level. I bench test the carb before reinstalling them--less hassle that way. I hook the fuel line directly to the carb and pump the beegeebers out of the bulb. The carb should NOT leak (contrary to common thought). If it does, I lower the float level slightly (or ?? etc.) to correct it.
