I'm trying to find out the

I'm trying to find out the minimum cold cranking amps required for my engines. They are Volvo 8.1 Gil-C's. I need to replace my batteries and want to make sure I equal or exceed the minimum amps required.

"Thanks for the response. The boat was delivered to me new, with Gel-cell 31 series batteries; 1 for each engine. This seems to be over-kill. There is an additional 31 series battery that supports the house needs. I'm thinking I can get away with Gel 27's as engine batteries. The charger stays on all the time, and I'm going into the 7th season with the OEM batteries. I'm concerned that I may be pushing my luck and would like to replace them.

Why not replacing them with wh

Why not replacing them with whatever has worked well for you for 7 years (or equivalent)? Then you eliminate the guess.
