"We have a 40hp Mariner running on only the bottom two cly's, Spark is good on all, fuel pump has been rebuilt. We have taken the top carb apart twice to check float and it is OK for ajustbemt (looked rebuilt).
The only way we can get power out of the top carb is to shut the front of the carb off, at that time the motor powers up great.
Compresstion is 120 to 125 on all cyl's.
We were told that the motor was rebuilt when we bought it a year ago, had 0 hr's.
