"The saga continues.Seems like I am not meant to fish this spring.. Let me give you all a little background here....
1999 Carolina Classic 8.1 Volvo Penta DPA drive with Jack Shaft..Tail end of last year we were running at speed and boom... The boat came to an abbrupt stop. Turn out the upper unit let go...
Just had a brand new upper and lower units installed by my local yard.
Boat runs fine while running in a straight line but while at speed, if you make a turn I get some vibration. While not severe it is noticable and was not present prior to this....
I'm thinking the U joints inside the bellows might be the culprit since the vibration is only present when turning at speed.
Any other thoughts as to what might be cause the vibration while turning at speed?
Pretty digusted at this point.... After a long wait for parts, $9K in repairs and I'm still high and dry. To add insult to ingury, the spring Striper season here in NJ is in full swing now and the fishing is insane.
