"Hello, we bought a Sea King outboard motor and the guy told us it was an early 70's. We need to find out for sure. Here's the info on it: Sea King 12hp Montgomery Ward Model#:GG9021A Serial#:65X637160. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bill"
 
"That's a 1956 Gale model

"That's a 1956 Gale model (formerly a division of OMC - johnson/evinrude).

So "some guy" was off by a good few years, either mistakenly or on purpose.

It was built for Mongomery Wards department stores who sold it under their store brand "SeaKing".

I running fairly well, I hope you didn't pay more than about 150 bucks for it...."
