"i have a seaking motor model#gg8977a ser#85x740431 i am not sure if it is 5 hp or i5 hp and year of motor and need some info for it is it 2stroke and air or water cooled any help is greatly appreciated, thank you {buckstopper} and starting instructions if all possible"
 
"Your motor is a 1958 5 horse.

"Your motor is a 1958 5 horse. It is water cooled, and should be mixed 24:1 with TCW-3 oil.
Original plug was J6-J (replaced by JC-C), gapped at .030. Use SAE90 gear oil in the bottom end.

Try Evinrude or Johnson parts too! They work with this motor.Don't ask shops for SeaKing parts, they;ll look at you crosseyed. Ask for parts from Evinrude and Johnson that are comparable. You may have to take the part in to get a perfect fit."
