"Suzukimarine.com for the specs. Depends on your climate 10-40 in warmer climates 10-30 in colder climates. Start with 4.5 quarts with new filter and chk it, add a little at time to get it in the middle of the stick. Each time you add oil wait about 10 mins for the oil to run to the sump before adding more. Those engines will foul the bottom plug if you run to much oil."

My DF 50 takes 2.5 Qts with a filter change. 4.5 qts for a 60 seems overkill. When I bought my boat 2nd hand the owner had the marina (where he purchased the boat) change the oil etc. Those ding dongs overfilled the sump by half a qt. It ran fine. Ended up draining it off. I keep my oil level at the top end of the hash marks.

4.5 quarts with a filter is the starting point for a DF60. The DF50 holds less oil 3 cylinder not a 4 cylinder.
