You need the remote kit. What year 9.9 and is it a two stroke or four stroke.

You can set-up a steering cable with control box. Depends how much your willing to spend on materials.

"it's an '05'four stroke with a "push rod" style steering coming of the main, I'd like to go independant for the kicker for ease while trolling and to iliminate the push bar style steering that is constantly hanging up on my tilt lock on the 9.9"
