i am rebuilding a 1999 ficht 1

i am rebuilding a 1999 ficht 150 evinrude and i was wondering if there was any way to tell if the engine has had the upgrades to the head without taking it to a dealer
 
The modified heads has a defle

The modified heads has a deflector pin screwed into the head between the injector and spark plug.
 
The pin Morten describes looks

The pin Morten describes looks like an allen head bolt about 1/4" in diameter. It's screwed into the head right next to each spark plug.
 
don't have the upgrade doe

don't have the upgrade does this mean that the engine won't run right. do i need to go to a dealer and have one installed
