Hi ihave a volvo penta drive 280. with a chevy 350 v-8 what should the idle rpm be?

I beleive it is an aq280? the drive starts with 280 the engine is a 350cu v-8 chevy

"The drive could be a 280, but that is not necessarily the "AQ" model of the engine. Have a look at a brass plate above the starter, it will tell you the model.

Sorry it tool so long to repost there is no ta there the only info was casting information on the block. maybee someone replaced the motor i am the third owner of this boat. It bangs when going into gear. thats why i thought may rpms were to high?
