"Chrysler M440 engine. It had a blown head gasket last fall, which is now fixed (& the oil was changed). It runs fine now, but I still see some water in the oil. Is it common that it takes a few oil changes to get all the water out, after an event like a blown head gasket?"

The motor didn't come out of the boat. Just a head gasket & valve job.

"I just went through this exact issue. Resolved it last weekend by doing 3 back to back oil changes. Did the first two with thin weight oil (cheaper stuff too) and then the final oil change, I used good stuff. Also, I went through two cheap Fram filters during the process and intend on using a better one when I'm ready to run next.

Oil is clear for me now."

You need to run it hard enough and long enough to get the oil up to about 200 degrees to evaporate the moisture. 30 minutes at 3000 rpm should do it.
