on my motor (te70tlce)

on my motor (te70tlce)i have a manual primer. am i supposed to rotate the red lever to start the motor everytime. It seems like when i do i think i flood the motor because i also squeeze the gas primer bulb. what is the purpose of the manual primer and how does it work. thanks alot
 
bw94.it sounds like you have a

bw94.it sounds like you have a primer soleniod.fitted. which is activated by turning ign on and pushing key in. this injects fuel into carb manifold to assist starting.if the electical side of this fails you can then turn the red lever for a few secs which drains fuel into system then turn it back off again.so as not to flood the engine. jim.

"Red lever over top of solenoid, facing other end of solenoid = normal automatic function setting.

As James states, this allows you to prime the engine when starting simply by pushing the key in.

Look upon it as an electric choke.... same principle."
