"The problem is my engine runs rich and ruff with cowling on but runns well with it off? The carbies have been off and cleaned, The cowlings foam liner has been removed, all wiring is neat and tidy and not fouling on anything, the compression on both cylinders is 120psi. The change in the engines performace is instant, as soon as the cowling is put on the rev's drop and getts smoky. Take the cowling off and the boat easily getts on the plain. All this has been happening after it got hot and blew a head gasket, the gaskets and thermostat, water pump,etc were all replaced at this time but this problem still remains. Any ideas?"
