Volvo Penta Duo Prop DPS Prop Installation

Just bought a new VP DPS lower

Just bought a new VP DPS lower unit for the boat. My local yard installed it and my B5 props....

I noticed that there is an one and a half inch gap between the forward prop and the zinc. This gap was not present before. On my old drive the forward prop was almost flush with the zinc.

The yard mechanic said he checked with Volvo and this is normal.. Spoke to some others with this set up and everyone's prop is flush with the zinc...

Anyone have any ideas why this might be?

Brand new VP zinc and same set of props that came off the drive.... My mechanic said there were some changes in the line cutters and prop installations on this new drive...

"A B-5 prop set is the aluminum set for the earlier Duo Prop drive with NO Thru Hub exhaust.
You will not be using B series with this drive! See if they are indeed B series!

Pull your props.
Look at your schematic.
See if all parts (spacers included) are as they should be.

BTW, this is an "Anode"..... not a zinc.
Zinc is one of the three commonly used anode materials.
Aluminum/Magnesium/Zinc!
Just an FYI on that! A Friendly FYI, I may add!
