"I am rebuilding a ford 351W marine engine. I am on a very limited budget. i have the stock marine cam the block came with, but i didn't keep the lifter organized, so they wouldn't go back in the original position. my other option is a summit cam and lifters.

the specs are:

rpm 1500-4000
duration @ .05 204/214
advertised duration 262/272
lift: .448/.472
lobe separation 112*

also, what should my ignition timing be when i get her back together and running this weekend"

"Cant you just buy new Lifters

"Cant you just buy new Lifters, and use the same Cam? Lobes worn?. If not, that's what I'd do.Lotsa build lube....lotsa."

"I bought some new lifter rece

"I bought some new lifter recently and purchasing Sierra ones ( with use of a marine buyer discount ) was cheaper than any autopart store.

yea, hows the orig cam look ? if you can get your hands on a micrometer, measure the INT lobes and EXH Lobes.. see how they are, then buy some new lifters, and lube lube lube!! even the lifters.

Sorry, I dont know Ford cam specs"

I just finished rebuild on 302

I just finished rebuild on 302W using the same cam from Summit. A definite improvement over the stock and worth the few dollars.
