    Default "i messed up and didnt remove

    "i messed up and didnt remove the shift rod correctly to change the water pump,the clutch ball moved and now its locked in gear,just to get it fixed will cost over $400.00,its a good motor but to much for me,i guess its shore fishing for me this year,any ideas? how hard will it be to do my self?anybody else try it on there own?"

    Default you have to pull the propshaft

    you have to pull the propshaft and carrier to reset the clutch pin.

    "i guess ill have to try it just hope i can do it without screewing something else up,its a 89 with only 37 hours on it,when i took the lower off i was thinking johnson thought there would be a screew to take out of the shift rod,"
