Thanks for ya'lls info in my idle problem. My next task is water pump. Any tricks on dropping engine foot? Should it be in foward gear???

I would remove a

I would remove and replace the lower unit with the shift linkage and the lower unit in neutral.

There are no tricks to this job. Just make sure you remove all of the screws that secure the gearcase to the mid-section. Don't forget to remove the trim tab. There is a screw in there also.
