"I note that from '87 to '91 the 4.3 liter V-6 4 barrel was rated at 205 hp, and somewhere in the mid 90's this dropped to 180 hp.
Anyone know why?
Would this be crankshaft hp versus propshaft hp?
Or maybe the addition of the balance shaft reduced the hp rating. Could that account for 25 hp loss?
Was there some other significant change along the way?"
