"What set up will put the boat on plane faster, and handle/perform better: twin 3.0 gs, or single 5.7 merc or whatever brand? The boat is 26' regal (5000lbs dry weight)?"

"The twins will plane faster, no question. The published torque may be the same but you have two props pushing the boat and thus, less slip, more thrust. You don't mention if this is I/B or I/O, but either way the twins will maneuver and handle better as well, especially when docking."
