I have a 1983 75 hp Chrysler.

I have a 1983 75 hp Chrysler. This engine runs great once it is started but if the engine has sat for any period of time it is extemly difficult to start. I have new spark plugs and am stumped. Normally use WD-40 as starting fluid. Once it is warm it startes relativly easy. Any Ideas. Just replaced the starter due to to much cranking.

The most obvious problem is that the chokes are not engaging. Since all are linked together, the most likely cause is the solenoid. Validate by having a buddy try to start the motor when cold while you eyeball what the chokes and solenoid are doing."
