Water pump problems

Today i was sitting on the lake fishing and when i went to start my boat which has a 2001 90 horse mercury it wasn't really pissin very strong about a trickle. When i went out on the water it was pissin perfect and strong. I looked at the pressure gauge it showed around 8ish when it was barely pissin which i thought was or is about the correct amount of psi when idiling. But I do know that even if that pressure is right and it is not pissin strong then i have probs somewhere. Maybe someone can help me get this fixed by diagnosin what the prob is. I think it is ethier the water pump or the impeller plz help. Thanks Dustin

"I`m not really familiar with this engine but on my old 150 Bluey, i had the same problem. It turned out to be a partial blockage in the water outlet hose from salt and crap. I found this AFTER i replaced the water pump. I flushed it out with garden hose and all sweet.
