We have a Mariner 40

We have a Mariner 40 Magmum #0D259747 that runs well at idle and to about half speed, than past the 1/2 speed it starts to die out and stop when in gear. If runned by the throttle only, (out of gear)the motor will hit high speed with a little sputter at the 1/2 speed mark.
We have replaced the swicth box,new gas and fuel line.
Tryed to prime the fuel line, and choke at the time the motor started to sputter, no help.
Any help would be great! Thanks"
