"have a 2.3 litre cobra stern drive in an 1987 seaswirl that I neglected to drain for the winter until was to late.(my bad)the freeze plugs show no sign of freezing,but it got into the low teens this winter. It wouldn't start this spring,just backfires through the carb.I put in some new fuel and replaced the spark plugs with no change.Checked the compression and found zero compression on the first 3 cylinders and 90lbs in the 4th. Took the valve cover off and noted that all the valves are functioning properly.That's as far as I went, it looks like I have some major damage in the bottom end.I can't find a replacement short block on the net. can anyone tell me where to look. and can I put a different block on that out drive. I would appreciate any help."

But there are several different vintages and designs of heads and blocks and covers and pans, but a rebuilder should be able to match your castings and internals with automotive equivalent."
