Impeller question

"i just replace the impeller l

"i just replace the impeller last year i do not start it without water, and the impeller was trashed pieces all in the housing and in the little grates where the ears go, did i put it on wrong, which way does it spin inside the housing. i put the motor in forward gear so should i spin the prop and place the impeller in the way the driveshaft spins while in forward, this is a stupid question i know just don't want to break down on the water and cant understand why the one i just put in last year got tore up that bad Thanks in advance for any help"

I doubt you did anything wrong

I doubt you did anything wrong sometimes you can fit a new impeller and first trip out pick up a plastic bag and burn out the impeller

Impeller turns clockwise. Checking it by putting it in fwd gear will not work.
