"Have a 2006 Honda BF15 that w

"Have a 2006 Honda BF15 that was overheating. Replaced the thermostat and impeller and bought the flush attachment. All good except when using the flush attachment, no water comes out of the intake screens. Seems like the water pump will not be flushed unless water comes out of the lowest screens. Is there something wrong or is that okay."

"Are you talking about the flushing system that attaches directly to the cooling system and not on the lower unit? If so, you will not get a flow of water out of the intake screen."

"Yes -- just find it curious that the water pump area doesn't get flushed out. And I don't understand how the thermostat doesn't prevent cooling water from getting to the parts of the engine downstream from the thermostat. I'm going to use the adapter for a couple of months and take apart the thermostat and water pump housings to see how it all looks. But as of now, enough time spent on the engine..."
