    Default Purchased boat used last year

    Purchased boat used last year and the steering is extremely stiff. Is there a way to lubricate shaft or do we have to replace the cable assembly?

    "That problem is usually due to rust/corrosion, whatever where the steering shaft goes thru the steering tube at the engine.

    Most of the time, removing the cable from the steering tube and cleaning/greasing both cures the problem....... a starting point."
