hello i having trouble getting

hello i having trouble getting my 150 to idle smooth. i have the mixture screws on starboard side of carbs at 1 3/4 turns out the idle speed is fine .....idles rough tho.
plugs are good.....no water in fuel.......i'm thinging either to lean or rich..
where should the lean-rich screws be set at?......1 turn out from all the way lean or what?
thanks
otto

1-1/2 to 2 turns out on mixtru

1-1/2 to 2 turns out on mixtrue screws I find it best to set them all the same. The 1988's were never real smooth running engines they ran a unbalanced crankshaft in 86/87/88. In 1989 they brought in the balanced crank to help with idle vibrations. It's the nature of the beast. You can try setting all pulsar coil outputs to be equal sometimes that will help. Not really but you can try it.

yes sir that is correct. start

yes sir that is correct. start at 1 1/2 turns. see how it runs and work from there. 2 turns would be richer
