"I am in the process of purchasing a 26' Regulator with twin 2000 225 hp saltwater series II OX66. Concerned that the compression test results are too low. Port engine cylinders 1-6 read: 90,85,85,90,90,85 Starboard 1-6 read 85,85,90,90,90,85. I understand that the consistency is good,but most everything I have been reading and hearing indicates that readings should be above 100. any advice?"
 
They are a little low but all

They are a little low but all within 10% of each other. I would treat them as engines with a higher than average number of hours on them. While the compression numbers don't show an iminant problem about to appear I would pay a price in accordance with high hours with replacement expected sooner than later.

"Well I'd have to find a crystal ball and develop a new skill, predicting the future. They could go 3 years or blow up next month. If the owner can't say with any certainty what kind of hours are on them, then treat them as high milers and pay accordingly."
