I have a 225bf 2003 model with

I have a 225bf 2003 model with 800 hours. It consumes 1-2 liters of oil every 50hours. Is that normal?
 
I would say it is not normal.

I would say it is not normal. I do not have as many hours on my 2003 but have not have any oil consumption issues thus far.

"Nikos - Don't agree with J-I-T on that one. My 2007 BF225 doesn't use any preceptable amount of oil in the 100 hours between changes, nor do any of those engines owned by others I know in this area. I'm using standard 10-30 HD marine oil and do a lot of trolling, and some long 4500 - 5000 rpm runs to the Chesapeake Bay in a realtively heavy 25 ft. C-Hawk."
 
motors can use up to 1 quart a

motors can use up to 1 quart at 15-20hrs
we learned this in factory training

i'm not saying it will but they can!
