"A buddy was greasing his 225h
"A buddy was greasing his 225hp Outboard and removed the midsection cover to find a hole in the extension(tower, leg, mid midsection between lower unit and powerhead). He told me about this and I removed my cover to find that I have a similiar larger hole in the same spot (see link below for pics). The Midsection Bearing has failed and blown out the casting of the extension. I believe Honda should stand behind this with a recall as the problem has occured from normal usage and not from lack of maintanence. This seems to be a major problem and problably a common one. If you have had this problem please let me know how you resolved it. If you own a 225 remove that cover, 4 bolts per side, and let me know if you have the problem we do. I need this resolved soon, fishing season is right around the corner.
