If so then you would be making a very good choice. The 115 Mariner is the same motor as the 115 Merc (save the paint/decals).

It was a very popular motor that even survived the 2005 model year which saw Merc scrap almost all of their Non-DFI 2 strokes, although I no longer see it advertised for the upcoming model year (outside of the US where there was still a 2 stroke market).

If the compression is good - anything over 100 would be fine and you have spark at all cylinders then it's tough to go wrong with this motor...

Personally, I would have no issues hangin' this model off the back of my boat and in that horsepower class, would choose it over pretty much anything else out there...."
