"Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and recently purchased a bass boat with a 90 horse Mercury. The power trim is sluggish and I'm looking to check fluid levels. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for looking."

With the motor trimmed fully up, remove fill nut and fill with ATF until oil runs out. Trim down, release manual operation screw and pull motor up & down manually to clear air in system. Recheck level when trimmed up again.

I'm assuming the trim is integrated with the motor?

Also, check the relays for corrosion, battery condition and wiring. A voltage drop would also affect the operation. Would be good idea to hook trim motor wires directly to a battery to see if it lifts well. If it's slow, the electrical side is suspect.
