Does anyone know what the floa

Does anyone know what the float drop is supposed to be on an old AFB four barrel with the two idle mix screws on the front as well the larger air screw in between them?

"Not a big deal. Just be sure the floats don't go down too far and jamb in hte down position. Once the carb is assembled and gas appears, the float drop is no longer an issue.

Thanks Jeff. My issue is the accelerator pump only works for one ot two squirts then the fuel level is too low.

And when I put the engine in gear it sputters and dies.

I am thinking the floats sit too low and are closing off the fuel supply too early.

The drop on them right now is about one and half inches.

I think it should be closer to three quarters to one inch.

Whoa! That's float level.

Whoa! That's float level. Float drop is how far down they fall with the cover off

Turn the cover upside down. The floats should be about 1/2 inch from the cover.

PS: Make sure they don't bind on te body of the carb or....
