"I am trying to remove the lower unit from this motor. I have removed the 5 bolts at the lower unit, but I can't find the pin that needs to be removed at the motor housing. It has dropped an inch, but it still seems to be attached to the shifter. I think there is a pin up there, but I can't locate it."
 
"an the lower and upper shift

"an the lower and upper shift shaft conector is located behind the water intake screens, undo the two screws and you will see it.

The bottom shaft nut is part of the shaft and it is the top nut which undoes...once undone slide the nut up the shaft and you will see a plastic cone on the shaft...it has a split so you can remove it and remember which way it was facing."
